The Studs Trust was set up to pursue the philanthropic work of American Banker, John Studzinski. Under its umbrella, he created the UK-based Genesis Foundation to concentrate on arts projects.
The Genesis Foundation works principally in the areas of opera and theatre and its brief is to support emerging talent. This is achieved by creating projects in partnership with relevant, existing institutions.
At the moment, for example, the Genesis Foundation works with the Royal Opera House, the Royal Court Theatre , the Young Vic Theatre , and LAMDA on projects to further the work of young composers, playwrights, directors and actors respectively
In the past, The Studs Trust has also been involved in helping other charities. For a few years it sponsored the Whitley Award for Birdlife Conservation. It also funded Anything Goes at Grange Park .
At present, the Studs Trust chiefly works in support of the Genesis Foundation
and its projects.
Because of its work in partnership with established institutions through the Genesis Foundation, the Studs Trust does not invite any direct applications nor does it support individuals directly.
